Higanbana by SinistrosePhosphate Higanbana by SinistrosePhosphate
I made this wallpaper a while ago.

The original photo came from the Gothic & Lolita Bible, issue #21. The model is a Japanese visual-rock singer named Kamijo (ex-Lareine, now of Versailles). In this case, he is cosplaying the role of Lestat from the movie "Interview with the vampire".

The line on the right bottom corner is the title of Lareine's 10th anniversary memorial book, roughly translated to "the Young nobleman in the name of 'Queen'" ("Queen", because the band was called "Lareine", of course.)

The flowers on the side are higanbana, spider lilies; or Lycoris Radiata. There is a mystical meaning attached to the flower in the Japanese Shinto tradition. They are intimately linked with those who have passed before us.
In this case... strangely apt for the subject matter.

I love the higanbana, really. (If you won't yell at me... I like them more than the rest of the wallpaper in this case... ^^;) But they certainly play a special role here. Vampires and death goes hand in hand, after all.

They most certainly are, aren't they?
Unfortunately, when my last computer died, I lost the picture file to these flowers, too. I haven't been able to find them again. I'm still aggrieved!

Aww . . . I'm sorry. I guess you can't just copy and paste from this picture? I don't know anything about this stuff . . .

This picture is actually several overlays of the original image. I can use this picture, but I will be taking -all- of these flowers with me. That's why I miss the originals.
