Kioko by SinistrosePhosphate Kioko by SinistrosePhosphate
So... where do I start?
Let's start with the why, then we work on the who.

This character's name is Kioko, and she belongs to :iconthe-ant-studios: as a series of ghosts who work together as a way to redeem themselves and those around them. It's an interesting premise, for sure. This as created as a part of an art trade, one of which I am rather behind on. But, at the end of the day, at least I am happy to report it's finally complete.

I like the simplicity of the character (that, and I am completely impartial to hospital gowns!). It also gave me a good reason to practice painting fire. And boy, oh, boy do I ever need the practice. It could still be a lot better, I think. But at this moment in time, I think I'll need to call it a day.

I hope you'll like it, :iconthe-ant-studios: and I hope you'll forgive me about how late it is...

Very nice rendering of the character, my friend. There's definitely a for boding air about this one.

Funny how you are the first one to notice the forboding air... because there was that intent in the first place. I still think this one could have been a lot better - but at the present moment, this it the best I can do. Very glad to hear you like it nonetheless, however. I can always use a little bit of encouragement.

You certainly deserve encouragement, my talented friend. :)
And I think the foreboding air works very well here. Quite well, in point of fact! :)

Keep up the awesome work, my good chum! :)

The real talented folks probably need less encouragement than I do. ^^;

But like what I said, you are probably the first one to mention the forboding air. And just that one line brings a smile to my face: it means whatever I did actually worked. So... thank you!

And to the best of my ability, I'll keep going for as long as I can.

Thank you so very much!
I like the little girl a lot, too.

The character belongs to someone else and this was done for a trade. But I really like how it turned out. :)

*fangirl screams* OMGOMGOMG I LOVE THIS~! :iconkermityayplz:  Gosh I don't know where to start ;A; soo I'll break down the facts and do a list (gosh I'm a bit annoying but it's important) :

1.-I Love everything in general and my brain can't think straight right now to think of something accuratly nice to say but I do appreciate all efforts in this piece.
2.- The lighting and shadowing on her skin and hospital gown are my two favorite parts
3.- HER EYES: I don't know why but you added a special charm of innocence and beauty to them.
4.-DAIYUUU~ Love how you drew him~! Looks like one of does toys you find in cereal boxes which is exactly what I wanted :heart:
5.-Um fire can be frustrating but I've seen some pretty good step by steps that could guide a bit owo Anywho you did a pretty good job without it

And pffff I don't need to forgive you, its better to be late than to never do it :D and it ended up preeetty awsome.

Hello.

And thank you for your list of wonderful comments.
(And why would you think I wouldn't finish it? It's a trade, isn't it? I don't go back on my promises.)

This one gave me a chance to experiment with fire... and how fire light catches on different things. Really, I need to thank you for giving me this chance to experiment. And if you liked the result of this experiment, it would mean the world to me. I wanted to make her look like one of those horror movie posters where the child is cute and innocent but her shadow tells the real story about her. In this case, the "shadow" behind her is the fire that killed her in the first place. And I am very glad to hear that you liked how the toy was drawn. It was a leap of faith for me... but I guess I jumped right!

Anyway... thanks for all the wonderful comments.
If you liked it, that's all I can ask for.

Hello!

And thank you for your very kind comment. I do agree with you, fire is very difficult to draw. I will need a lot more practice yet. (But, if I may say so, you've done a really good job on your Sailor Mars as well.)

Thank you for adding this project to your list of favourites. I appreciate it very much!

With many thanks,

... well...
... according to the story I've been told, she's a little girl who died in a hospital fire.
... I don't know if she's a pyromaniac, though.
... Best ask the original writer... ^^;

You should use small white streaks to highlight the fire,
add small specks of a light red as hot ash and,
airbrush light red for the fires glow,
then Dun Dun...
Magic..!

I like that idea!
Thanks, my friend. I'll try it on this one. If it doesn't work out I'll try it on the next fire I paint. It sounds like a coherent plan that will work wonders!

I'll do a tutorial for you,
if you'd like,
I don't mind doing it at all,
so If you want one,
just ask...

Plus that and Yes,
I do consider you an artist and so should you...

... That sounds like a lovely idea, actually.
... If you wouldn't mind, that'd be wonderful. As long as it's no bother with you.

... And thanks for considering me an artist.
... It's a title that doesn't sit very well with me. Never did, I am afraid. And probably never will.

... But do you know how many people think I can't stand garlic and wave it in front of my face?
