Tea with Liam - Origin of Tea

Published:

Description

... or better put, "the common origin of the word 'tea'."

What's really quite amazing is that the word for tea almost the whole world over came from one of the many Chinese dialects. There is almost no word native to any language that means "tea". This includes language isolates such as Korean. Of course, this refers to tea and not tisane (which, as we learned 2 weeks ago, came from Greek.)

... and that... is something to drink to. Tea, of course.

Technical details:
1. Words hand-written with Dr. Ph. Martin's Bombay india ink with a C-6 handwriting nib
2. Drawn with HB mechanical pencil and 2B graphite pencil
3. Lined with Sakura Pigma Sensei 0.4cm.
4. Strathmore 300-series Mixed Media paper 5.5"x8.5" (14x21.6cm), 90lbs (190gsm)
5. Processing: PS4. (For cropping the image and contrast.)

my friends and I refer to tea as "cha", and one of my favorite teas is Bori Cha!~ it can be heated to be warm during winter, and cooled for summer~
